Type 2 Diabetes is a metabolic disorder resulting from the inability of the body to produce or respond to insulin hormone in the normal way leading to abnormal sugar storage. Even though it is a lifelong condition, it is fully responsive to treatment and if well controlled, a normal life is possible. If left untreated it can lead to serious complications including blindness, kidney failure, heart disease and strokes.
